Her focus for more than 15 years

High-end ceramic restorations have been the focus of Dr. med. dent. Nina van Sprundel for more than 15 years. She is certified in Digital Smile Design.

Handmade in Zurich

A dental aesthetician in Zurich builds up each veneer by hand, layer by layer, until colour, translucency and surface texture match your natural teeth.

Even if you grind your teeth

Dr. van Sprundel has studied veneers for grinding and erosion scientifically. With careful planning, suitable ceramics and a night guard, they are often possible.

Ceramic, Lumineers or composite?

Classic all-ceramic veneers are the most versatile solution. Usually only the enamel is reduced by 0.3–0.5 mm, significantly less than for a crown. Ceramic reproduces the play of light of natural teeth vividly and does not discolour.

Lumineers are around 0.3 mm thin and can usually be bonded without preparing the teeth. They suit selected cases only: very dark teeth may show through, and if you grind heavily, classic veneers are the better choice.

Composite can solve minor corrections gently and quickly, but it discolours over time. For a comprehensive, long-lasting smile makeover, we recommend ceramic.

What we do for you

How it works

  1. Initial consultation and planningWe examine your teeth, gums, bite and jaw joints and take photos and a digital 3D scan. With Digital Smile Design you see your new smile in advance.
  2. Preparation and scanAt the practice, we prepare the tooth surfaces minimally and gently and capture them with a precise digital scan.
  3. TemporariesAt the dental laboratory you receive laboratory-made temporaries that already come very close to the final result, so you experience your new smile in everyday life.
  4. Try-inThe final ceramic veneers are tried in and checked for bite and aesthetics. This appointment only ends when everything is right.
  5. Placement and follow-upUsually on the following day, Dr. van Sprundel permanently bonds the veneers. At follow-up appointments we check the bite and fine-tune it if necessary.

Frequently asked questions

How much do veneers cost?

A ceramic veneer at our practice costs from CHF 2,000. This includes planning with Digital Smile Design, the laboratory-made temporaries, the handcrafting and the follow-up appointments. You receive your binding cost estimate at the initial consultation.

How long do veneers last?

With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, many years – often 15 years or more.

Is the treatment painful?

Usually not. In most cases only the enamel is minimally prepared; if more is required in individual cases, we use local anaesthesia. Even patients with dental anxiety usually find the treatment very comfortable.

How many appointments do I need?

After the initial consultation, there are four appointments: preparation and scan, temporaries, try-in and placement. Depending on the number of veneers, treatment is completed within 7–14 days.

Do veneers look natural?

Yes. Shape, colour and translucency are individually matched to your teeth and face. The goal is a smile that is beautiful and natural at the same time, not an off-the-shelf «Hollywood smile».

I don't live in Switzerland. Is treatment still possible?

Yes. After the initial consultation, treatment is completed in four appointments within 7–14 days, scheduled around your travel dates. A few weeks later there is a follow-up, usually a single short appointment.

Start with a Smile Check

The Smile Check is the first step towards your veneers, with no obligation: talk through your wishes, have your teeth checked and get an honest assessment.
