Treatments Orthodontics

Braces for children, teenagers and adults

A harmonious smile starts with properly aligned teeth. At our practice in Baar we offer the full range of modern orthodontics – for children and teenagers as well as for adults.

Orthodontics at any age

In children, we use natural growth to correct misaligned teeth and jaws early and gently. For adults, we favour discreet methods that fit seamlessly into everyday life. Dr Nina van Sprundel and Dr Sara Saffari work closely together to develop an individual, lasting solution for every patient.

What we treat

Together with you, we choose the treatment that is most comfortable for you. Among other conditions, we treat:

  • Deep bite and crossbite
  • Congenitally missing teeth
  • Crowding and gaps
  • Jaws that are too narrow

Invisible: aligners and lingual braces

Straight teeth without anyone noticing: clear aligners are thin, removable plastic trays that gradually move your teeth into the desired position. They are barely visible and can easily be taken out for eating and brushing.

With lingual braces, custom-made brackets sit on the inner side of the teeth and cannot be seen from the outside – ideal for more complex corrections, too.

Digital planning

Every treatment is based on a digital scan of your teeth, with no impression material. This lets us plan each step precisely and show you the expected result before treatment begins.

Personal consultation

During a consultation at our practice in Baar, we assess your situation, explain your options and prepare a transparent treatment and cost plan.

Frequently asked questions

At what age should my child have an orthodontic check-up?

A first check-up is usually advisable at around 7–9 years of age. This allows misalignments to be detected early and the ideal time for treatment to be determined.

Am I too old for braces?

No. Teeth can be moved at any age, provided the gums and jawbone are healthy.

How long does treatment take?

Depending on the initial situation, from a few months to around two years. Minor corrections are often completed much sooner.

Does health insurance cover the costs?

Swiss basic health insurance covers orthodontic treatment only in certain exceptional cases, such as recognised congenital conditions. For children, taking out supplementary dental insurance early is therefore worthwhile. We recommend clarifying cost coverage before treatment begins.
