How they work
Small brackets are bonded to the teeth and connected by a fine archwire. As the braces work around the clock, even pronounced misalignments can be corrected reliably.
When are they recommended?
- Crowding, rotated teeth and gaps
- Correction of deep bite, crossbite or open bite
- Precise alignment of individual teeth
- Completing treatment after removable braces
- Preparation for implants, crowns or bridges in adults
Options
- Metal brackets: small, robust and particularly well proven
- Ceramic brackets: tooth-coloured and therefore much less noticeable – ideal for teenagers and adults who value aesthetics
- Lingual brackets: attached to the inner side of the teeth and invisible from the outside

Procedure
After the initial consultation and detailed planning, the brackets are bonded painlessly in a single appointment. At regular check-ups we adjust the archwires and monitor progress. Once treatment is complete, a retainer keeps the result stable in the long term.
Frequently asked questions
How long does treatment take?
Depending on the initial situation, usually between one and two years, or less for minor corrections.
Do fixed braces hurt?
Bonding the brackets is painless. After fitting and after adjustments you may feel some pressure for a few days, which subsides on its own.
What do I need to know about oral hygiene?
Thorough brushing after every meal is particularly important, together with interdental brushes. Regular professional cleaning during treatment protects against tooth decay and gum inflammation.
Can I eat everything?
Avoid very hard and sticky foods, as they can loosen the brackets. Hard foods such as apples are best cut into small pieces.
